Boulder, Colorado is known for a lot of things... the flatirons, the sunshine, Pearl Street - the European-esque pedestrian mall, and The University of Colorado. What many people do not realize is the importance of the college community for smaller cities like ours. As classes begin and we see our students again, we wanted to highlight their importance to the local community, and the importance of shopping small!

Boulder has been named the number one place to live in the US, and we definitely see that with the growth our city has undergone. However, we are still a “college town” at heart, and that reflects in our local businesses. We love our CU students and when they went online-only during the pandemic we definitely felt it. As classes began in late August, our local traffic has increased a lot thanks to our students and their visiting relatives and Buffs football fans! 

Shopping small and local has always been a slogan, but really became important during the pandemic, as local business felt the brunt of its impact on commerce. As a small business in downtown Boulder we rely on this shopping local mindset, and we want to thank our local residents who take the time to come down to Pearl Street and shop locally with us!

Our local business neighbors would agree that the students bring an energy to the city and to businesses that we miss in the winter and summer seasons! COVID taught us a lot about our lifestyles, what to prioritize, and what habits to let go of; all good things. So as we move onto a more normalized post-pandemic society, we wanted to thank everyone who supported us, and to welcome our new customers and new students who we greet with wide open arms!
